Deloitte's TP practice is the oldest, and one of the largest, TP specialist groups in Latin America. The team comprises 21 partners and more than 180 other professionals, many of whom have previously worked at the specialist TP unit at the Mexican tax authority (Servicio de Administratión or SAT).

The practice is overseen by Simón Somohano, who has almost 30 years of experience in the industry and leads the Advanced Pricing Agreements technical discussions with both the Mexican and US tax authorities on behalf of the export maquiladora and manufacturing industry association.

With a large base of talented and experienced professionals who constantly take advantage of a wide range of technological tools, in combination with a highly creative, and in some cases innovative, approach technique and Deloitte state-of-the-art Center of Excellence for Transfer Pricing Information and Research for Latin America, Deloitte is constantly committed to increase the market standards.

This year Deloitte's TP and International Tax controversy teams assisted a large multinational company in one of the first examinations under the new approach of the SAT that consist of doing the review, including stimulatingly diverse departments or areas (transfer pricing, international tax), as response, Deloitte's controversy teams includes specialists in each area who have experience in the industry and tax audit process.

Through an extensive collaborative work, Deloitte and client were able to collect evidence that identified the type of services received by the Mexican subsidiary such as the development of regional strategies, plans for the execution of corporate strategy, coordination of commercial operations and advisory.

This information included the people participating in the project as well as a financial analysis of how these services helped the company to increase sales or reduce costs.
