A&L Goodbody

Over the last year A&L Goodbody has been very active in M&A, corporate re-domiciliation projects, capital markets transactions, real estate acquisitions and Transfer Pricing.

Tax partner Paul Fahy and senior associate Philip McQueston are heavily involved in the firm’s transfer pricing practice. The team provide advice to their clients on transfer pricing audits and other transfer pricing-related issues. 

Last year associate Edel Mullins left the firm and has since joined Arthur Cox.

Deloitte

Deloitte has been expanding its tax and transfer pricing team in Ireland and has made 19 senior hires over the last 12 months. Additionally, in 2017 it was awarded the Ireland Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year by the ITR. The transfer pricing team is headed up by Gerard Feeney, who has years of experience specialising in transfer pricing.

Ove the last year tax partner Louise Kelly led the team in assisting with the implementation of a multinational group’s global intellectual property holding and foreign operating structure alignment with its business operations. Within this, the team provided input from a transfer pricing perspective in relation to the valuation and interest rate on the financing of the IP acquisition.

In January 2018 the firm welcomed partner Billy Burke to the team. The tax and legal partner specialises in M&A and global mobility issues.

EY

The EMEIA Tax Center at EY is organised as a supranational entity covering the entire Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) region, with its Intercompany Effectiveness and operational transfer pricing practice serving clients’ needs across all jurisdictions.

Led by Oslo-based partner Sveinung Baumann-Larsen, it brings together multi-disciplinary experience and resources focused on IT, accounting, and tax from the entire region in its work. This work covers some of the leading global companies in their respective fields and includes those involved in retail and consumer products, energy and pharmaceuticals, to name but a few.

Mason Hayes & Curran

Mason Hayes & Curran is a leading tax and transfer pricing firm in Ireland. The team is headed up by John Gulliver, who has advised FTSE 100 companies on tax matters for more than 30 years. The firm currently advises large pharmaceutical companies and games companies such as Activision Blizzard. 

In 2017 the firm worked with a client developing and implementing an IP purchase from the US to Ireland including transfer pricing aspects. John Gulliver and associate Eilís Griffin also advised Enigmasoft and Cyclonis on structuring across various reorganisations, which involved advising on the transfer pricing aspects involved.

This year the firm hired Paulina Serafieva, a former corporate solicitor at Beauchamps. In 2017 partner Robert Henson left the firm to join EY.

Matheson

Matheson has been a highly regarded firm for tax and transfer pricing for over 20 years. The team advises many US and EU multinational companies and financial institutions.

Over the last year the transfer pricing practice has advised clients negotiating APAs under the formal procedure launched by Revenue in 2016. Partner Catherine O’Meara and Joe Duffy are both heavily involved in transfer pricing work at the firm. O’Meara and Duffy are specialists in transfer pricing and Duffy has published writing in this area.

William Fry

William Fry, Taxand Ireland, provides a full-service tax practice. Its dedicated transfer pricing team includes partners Martin Phelan and Shane Wallace, and associate Declan Lavelle.

The firm is currently advising multinational groups in a range of sectors including healthcare and technology. The team is advising on a MAP in relation to transfer pricing and all other aspects of transfer pricing. 

The firm hired tax partner Anne Harvey in 2017. She specialises in international corporate tax and was a tax director at PwC before joining the firm. In December 2017 partner Cliona Donnelly left to join the Google tax team.
