Pinheiro Neto Advogados is a Brazilian, independent, full-service firm specializing in multidisciplinary deals and in translating the Brazilian legal environment for the benefit of local and foreign clients.

Founded in 1942, Pinheiro Neto Advogados was one of the first Brazilian law firms to serve foreign clients as well as the first Brazilian law firm to specialize in corporate clients. With clients in almost 60 countries, the firm was recognized in 2014 by the Brazilian government as the number one exporter of legal services from Brazil.

The firm has grown organically, and developed a distinctive, tight-knit culture, with a low associate-topartner ratio. Its unique, democratic governance structure promotes transparency and consensus-building among the partners.

With a focus on innovation, the firm has kept its competitive edge throughout the years, and is widely hailed as an institution of the Brazilian legal market. Pinheiro Neto Advogados is the Brazilian institutional partner of Harvard Law School Center for the Legal Profession’s groundbreaking GLEE (Globalization, Lawyers and Emerging Economies) program. Pinheiro Neto Advogados is one of only a handful of firms partnering worldwide with Thomson Reuters and Samsung’s legal technology innovation research project.

Finally, Pinheiro Neto is also an affiliate of Stanford Law School’s program in law, science and technology (LST), which supports cutting-edge research, teaching and program development.

In order to maintain its status as a valued strategic partner to its clients, the firm invests heavily in professional development, not only through strong on-the-job training, but also by means of the highly structured Pinheiro Neto Professional Development Program, the first of its kind in Brazil. A significant portion of the firm’s lawyers hold graduate degrees from top local and international law schools, and have spent time working in high-ranking international law firms. In addition, its lawyers can take advantage of the largest and most complete private legal library in Brazil.

Pinheiro Neto Advogados was the first Brazilian law firm to be certified as carbon neutral; the first Brazilian law firm to join the country’s largest social investors in the Group of Outreach Institutions, Foundations and Companies (GIFE); and the first Brazilian law firm to be recognized by the state of São Paulo diversity accreditation body (Selo Paulista da Diversidade). The firm’s pioneering pro bono program has compensated professionals for their involvement in social causes since 2009.

Selected awards include: Brazil Client Service Firm of the Year – Chambers and Partners (2017), Latin Finance Brazil Firm of the Year (2017 and 2016), IFLR Americas Awards – Firm of the Year: Brazil (2016),

Chambers & Partners Brazilian (2009, 2011, 2014) and Latin American (2009, 2010, 2013) Firm of the Year; Who’s Who Legal: Brazil Firm of the Year for 13 consecutive years (2006–2018).
