Deloitte’s Latvian office has a well-respected tax and transfer pricing team. Barbara Zuromska is manager of the tax and transfer pricing department. She is a specialist in transfer pricing and international tax matters and has worked in these fields for more than seven years. Edgars Vilnis is head of the transfer pricing team. He is involved in transfer pricing documentations, benchmarking studies, cost sharing and value chain structuring.
The Latvian team has been particularly involved in investment projects over the last year. It assisted a project where the investment amount was more than €277 million. The transfer pricing team has also been involved with other offices in the Deloitte Baltic network preparing transfer pricing documentation for a large multinational group.
Elenora Bogdanova moved from EY to join the Latvian team as a senior tax consultant in 2017. Aleksandra Ivanova also joined the firm in the same year as a senior tax consultant. Ivanova was previously a tax consultant at TaxLink Baltic.
The EMEIA Tax Center at EY is organised as a supranational entity covering the entire Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) region, with its Intercompany Effectiveness and operational transfer pricing practice serving clients’ needs across all jurisdictions.
Led by Oslo-based partner Sveinung Baumann-Larsen, it brings together multi-disciplinary experience and resources focused on IT, accounting, and tax from the entire region in its work. This work covers some of the leading global companies in their respective fields and includes those involved in retail and consumer products, energy and pharmaceuticals, to name but a few.
Sorainen is a leading firm in the Baltic States. Partner Jānis Taukačs is head of the Sorainen tax and customs practice group in the Baltics and Belarus. He leads many of the transfer pricing matters at the Latvian office.
Last year the team assisted Uralkali Trading in an advanced pricing agreement for a business transfer transaction. It also supported Bridgestone Baltics in updating and supplementing its transfer pricing documentation.
Associate Kristaps Cimmermanis joined the firm in March of this year.
TGS Baltic is a pan-Baltic firm with offices in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The Latvian office has an active transfer pricing team. Partner Andra Rubene supports clients in transfer pricing matters.
The firm is currently supporting Rīgas Dzirnavnieks against the Latvian state revenue service related to the adoption of transfer pricing principles on intra-group borrowing and the application of VAT in transactions with third parties.
